Baldwin Cartwright has a strong focus and maintains a presence within the local community it serves. Our community involvement includes:

  • Partnering with Taylor Street Community Legal Service and volunteering time to provide free legal advice and facilitate free legal information sessions on how to apply for a divorce;

  • In house fundraising through the sale of chocolates, pie drives and raffles to raise money for community organisations and charities. Recently a cheque was donated to the RSPCA for monies that the team had raised- see in the news for more details;

  • Raising monies for the Queensland Cancer Council and hosting the Worlds Largest Morning Tea;

  • In house Cupcake morning tea to raise money in aide of the RSPCA;

  • Providing donations or sponsorships to a range of community organisations as follows:

    • Supplying sponsorship and sports apparel for Gympie Junior Rugby League Club Under 7’s and 8’s for the years 2008 and 2009;
    • Supplying sponsorship and sports apparel for a mixed touch football team;
    • Platinum sponsor for the Gympie Women’s health Centre Ordinary Women Extra Ordinary Women’s Awards for the years 2008 and 2009;
    • Sponsor the Legal Studies Prize for the State High Schools: James Nash State High School, Gympie State High School, St Patrick’s High School and Victory College High School - 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009.
    • Sponsor the Christmas Party for Erin House (a women’s shelter in Gympie) 2006, 2007, 2008.
    • Attend and support local fundraising events:

      • Erin House Trivia night- raising money for Erin House;
      • Functions held by Little Haven Palliative Care;
      • Functions held by Gympie Rotary;
      • Chemotherapy Ball;
      • Ordinary Women Extra Ordinary Awards nights- see in the news for more details.

  • Selena, Principal of the Firm, currently sits on the Management Committee for the Gympie Women’s Health Centre and the Weeroona Association
