Selena Cartwright - BA/LLB (UNE) Principal & Head of Department- Plaintiff Litigation Selena Cartwright, Principal of the firm, holds a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in sociology) and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of New England and has over ten years experience in the legal industry. Selena was born and bred in Gympie and undertook her secondary education at James Nash State High school, where she was Vice School Captain during her final year. Upon completing school Selena secured full time employment in the firm as an Articled Clerk. Over the next five years Selena worked full time whilst externally completing, on a full time basis, a dual degree in Arts/Law. Her first day at university was on the day of her graduation. After completing her five year articles of clerkship with the firm, she was admitted as a Solicitor of both the High Court and Supreme Court. Within 18 months of her admission, at just 24 years of age, Selena was promoted to partnership at which time she became an equal partner in the firm. In January, 2008 Selena became the sole Principal wherein she now overseas all aspects of the practice, in addition to managing her own case load. Her business acumen and dedication to the industry, staff and client’s has seen her named:
Selena holds a special interest in helping people who are involved in the breakdown of a relationship and prides herself on achieving the best possible outcome for her client’s, in addition to providing tactical advice which ensures her client's rights are protected. Throughout her career Selena has practiced predominately in family law and been involved in both national and international family law matters and brings a wealth of experience in complex property matters, children’s matters (including international children’s cases under the Hague Convention), paternity disputes, child support issues, domestic violence, spousal maintenance and de facto property settlements. In the conduct of all of her matters, and in the management of the practice, she strives for excellence and has achieved some amazing outcomes including the successful retrieval of a child from Croatia who had been missing from Australia for three years. She is a member of the Queensland Law Society, the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia, the Women Lawyers Association, the Young Lawyers association, the Gympie Women in Business Network and Gympie Chamber of Commerce. When not working in or on the business, Selena is also committed to supporting her local community, devoting her time to working on the management committee of the Gympie Women’s & District Health Centre as well as the Gympie Weroona Association. Selena’s enjoys spending quality time with family and friends and travelling abroad. To date she and her husband have travelled extensively throughout Asia and Europe. |

Michael Cartwright - BAdminLead, DipLGovAdmin, DipBus (Procurement & Supply)(Frontline Management) Strategy & Business Development Michael is married to Selena and has become responsible for practice management and general office administration. He has played an instrumental role in providing a vision for the practice and has worked closely with Selena to develop strategies to achieve her stated business goals. In addition Michael has worked in Local Government for the past 18 years with vast experience in drafting and negotiating various contracts. To date he has completed a Diploma of Business (Frontline Management), Diploma of Local Government Administration, Diploma of Procurement and Supply and a Bachelor of Administrative Leadership with a double major in Corporate Governance and Public Administration through the University of New England. Michael shares with his wife Selena a love for travel and together they have travelled extensively throughout Asia and Western Europe. |

Simon Richard Browne - LLB (UQ) Senior Associate & Head of Department - Commercial Law Simon is employed in our firm as Senior Associate in Commercial Law. He is an experienced commercial law practitioner, obtaining his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Queensland in 1981. Simon was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in 1983 and has 27 years experience in common law (leasing and contracts) and multiple aspects of general practice. Simon also has extensive litigation experience including Local Government Appeals. Simon was a former partner of the Sunshine Coast firm of Alroe Browne & Woodall who held offices at Buderim, Coolum and Peregian Beach. That firm now continues as Noel Woodall & Associates in Peregian Beach. |

Candice Rosborough - BA/LLB (UQ) Associate & Head of Department - Family Law Candice is employed in our firm as an Associate Solicitor. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Anthropology) and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Queensland (1996). Candice has practiced in New South Wales and Queensland in the areas of Family Law, Insurance and Risk Management, Plaintiff litigation, Trade Practices and General Litigation. Candice now specializes in Family Law, having previously held the position of Associate in the Family Law Department of the boutique North Sydney firm Musgrave Peach. Candice finds helping people with their property, parenting and child support matters highly rewarding. |

Corey Jenkins- BA/LLB Grad Dip (Legal Practice) Solicitor & Head of Department - Criminal Law Corey is employed in the firm as a Solicitor in the Family Law & Criminal Law Departments and he also manages Domestic Violence applications. Corey holds a Bachelor of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from Griffith University, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. He is currently undertaking a Masters in Family Law. Since being admitted Corey has appeared in the Federal Magistrates Court, the Family Court, the Supreme Court and various Magistrates Courts. |

Andrew Ho - LLB/BIT Grad Dip (Legal Practice) Solicitor Andrew is employed in the firm as a Junior Solicitor. He Holds a Bachelor of Laws from QUT, Bachelor of Information Technology from QUT and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from QUT. Andrew is working with our Senior Associate Simon Brown in the Commercial Department. He also undertakes work in the area of Estate Planning and administration. |

Keith Scott Consultant Solicitor Keith is a Consultant to our firm assisting in the Litigation Department. He has been a practicing Solicitor since 1981 and has vast experience in general practice, criminal law, commercial and insurance law, family law, plaintiff litigation, practice management, property and succession law. Throughout his career Keith spent 26 years of practice as a partner at Goodfellow and Scott which subsequently became Keith Scott and Associates in Logan City where he built up the largest litigation practice between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. |

Lauren Stevens - Undergraduate Paralegal Lauren is employed as a Paralegal in our Litigation Department. Lauren is now currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Laws at the University of New England and is undertaking those studies externally. Lauren has a range of experience in Administration, Client Care, as well as working in the Family Law and Criminal Law Departments. |

Yasmin Maitland - Justice of the Peace (Qualified) Paralegal Yasmin is employed in the firm as a Paralegal for the Family Law and Criminal Law Departments. Yasmin is a Justice of the Peace (Qualified) and has been accepted into the University of New England. Yasmin intends undertaking a Bachelor of Laws externally in the near future. Yasmin brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the firm and strives to provide clients with the highest level of professionalism and care. She plays a significant role in ensuring that client's individual needs are met in a timely and efficient manner as she understands the difficulties and stress clients can encounter when dealing with Family and Criminal Law issues. |

Dianne Richards Office Administrator Dianne is employed in our firm as Office Administrator. Dianne has extensive experience in managerial positions in both the Public and Private sector. She has a background in mediation, management planning, project management, governance, policy development, human resources, risk management, financial management, retirement village administration, real-estate and the building industry. Dianne has 16 years experience as an Executive Services Officer in local government, and has been the only non elected person in NSW to be given a life membership of ALGWA. She also held management positions within the University of Western Sydney and managed a family building business for 8 years. Dianne provides efficient and effective management by reference to her in depth understanding of policy, systems and procedures. |

Lisa Milne - Justice of the Peace (Qualified) Client Care Officer, Personal Assistant & Head of Department - Administration Lisa is employed in the firm as the Head of our Administrative Team. In addition to overseeing the administrative aspects of the practice, Lisa is the firm’s client care officer and a personal assistant to Selena Cartwright. Lisa has 24 years experience in the Legal industry to our firm. Jason Pronger Information Technology & Administration Jason is employed in the firm as the IT Coordinator and also undertakes administrative duties. He has completed a Certificate III in Business Administration Legal which he undertook while working at Baldwin Cartwright. He is currently employed in the firm as our Information Technologhy Coordinator, responsible for our workflow and precedent development. Aside from this Jason undertakes other administrative duties in the firm including, reception and Legal Aid. |

Angela Bell Word Processor Angela is employed in the firm as our Word processor and has worked in the firm over the past 25 years. She is regarded by all her fellow colleagues as being the “heartbeat of the practice.” She undertakes word processing for our entire team. She is extremely experienced and competent in all facets of typing and document production. She has played an instrumental role in developing and creating the firm’s templates, precedents and programming. |
